2012 Master Ky-Tu Dang Seminar

2012 Master Ky-Tu Dang Seminar

ACT Taekwondo recently held a taekwondo seminar conducted by Master Ky-Tu Dang on 23 April. Master Dang is a highly respected and internationally recognised expert in taekwondo. He is also a World Champion Martial Artist and an 8th Dan in taekwondo.

The seminar was conducted over the course of a day and included various sparring and poomsae drills. Master Dang then covered some of the more recent changes in Poomsae and judging criteria. In an effort to provide a deeper insight into the poomsae, Master Dang also delved into the philosophy of poomsae and the meaning behind the moves. This was received very well by all participants and they were excited to hear and see more!

Master Dang’s martial arts accomplishments include:

  • 8th Dan: Taekwondo
  • World Poomsae Champion: 2006 (Silver), 2007 (Gold), 2008 (Silver), 2009 (Silver)
  • Danish National Sparring Team Member: 1976 – 1984
  • Danish National Technical Head Coach: 1993 – 2002
  • Israeli National Sparring Head Coach: 1994 – 2000
  • Danish National Technical Director: 2002 – Present

Lastly, we would like to thank Taekwondo Australia and IMPACT Martial Arts for organising and hosting the event, and we hope to have Master Dang down in the ACT again!
